She’s five!  With blue marker fingertips, scratched off toenail polish and “princess” flowers in her hair, this is our Shelby.  This spring she finished her first year of Pre-school, and I cannot believe how much she learned and grew in so many aspects in just the course of months. Lately, I’ve begun to see and hear a lot of my mom in me, and so much of me in Shelby.  She can be a spitfire, this one, and I know exactly from where that comes.  In fact, she totally dressed herself for this photo shoot, only not in the outfit I had meticulously chosen.  But, as you’ll see, she’s got this covered.  She can melt my heart in a blink with a hug and gentle pat on my back topped off with a grin, head tilt, and a calm, collected “I love you, Mom.”

My first Class of 2018 senior is sure a beauty!  Makenna has such a kind, gentle soul.  In getting to know her throughout her shoot, she is aspiring to become a veterinarian after high school.  Her loving spirit will serve her well as a vet as she cares for animals of all kinds.  We also discovered that blue is totally “her color.”  She has gorgeous blue eyes anyway, and when she’s wearing blue, her eyes have extra sparkle in them.  Enjoy your senior year, Makenna, I wish you all the best!

Miss Leah’s already got a whole year under her feet!  She has been movin’ and groovin’ for a few months already and it does not seem like she is ready to stop any time soon! Leah is the third of three nieces we were lucky enough to welcome into our extended family last year, and those three make up quite a cute little trio.  Leah is the little explorer in the group, and she thoroughly enjoys pestering her kitty, Levi, quite a bit at home.

My, oh my, how Miss Freya has changed in just six months!  She is as adorable as ever with her big, gummy smile and sparkly blue eyes!  She absolutely adores her big brother, and it appears he feels the same.  They make quite a cute pair.  When she puts on a serious face, she really looks like her Daddy, but I can see a lot of her beautiful mama in her, too.
