I first got to know Haylie as my husband’s cousins’ girlfriend – then fiancé, wife, and now mother to their three darling girls.  Though we live a few hours apart and only see each other a few of times a year, she and I have quickly found we share a lot in common in our mom lives as farm wives.  As Haylie was approaching her due date with #3, we were texting about various things then I got a message that said something like, “I wish you were here.” So, I thought, “Why not?!” On a whim, I packed up our three kids, some food, nail polish, and my camera and headed west.  What a fun day it was!  We ate, wrangled kids, played outside, discussed solving world hunger, gave Haylie a pedicure, and gave ourselves time to just be.  Before it was time to go, I pulled out my camera, and we captured some very sweet moments of her and their two older girls, the third still in her belly at that time.
I’m so glad we had this day.  And, congratulations on the birth of #3, sweet Kenzie Grace.
Here’s to all the tough moments and the ones that melt your heart.  You make one great little mama, Haylie!  And, I’m very thankful to have you as a friend.

Over Memorial weekend, our Omaha family made the twin’s first trip “back home” to Davenport to visit.  Big things are happening for the Omaha Millers!  Miss Leah turned two a couple weeks ago and twins, Olivia & Evan, are almost 6 months old.  Leah loves to let her personality show through by sporting all sorts of fabulous hats and keeps her collection of kitties nearby.  The twins like to show their rolling skills and the poor dears are cutting their first teeth.  But, all three are happy little people and enormously loved by our family.  See you again soon, sweeties!

Little cutie, Brittyn, may just be one of the smiliest 3-month-olds I have ever seen!  She was grinning from start to finish, especially when we she had her mama on radar.  And, when those dimples showed through on her sweet, little cheeks, my heart just about exploded!  She was also a trooper during tummy time when we had her propped on a pillow. From the looks of it, she’ll be rolling in no time.  See you in a few months, sweet Brittyn.  I cannot to see how much you will grow by then!

Sweet Kora Mae is 6 months young and sitting up on her own like a little princess.  Sometimes, I think God adds a little extra sweetness when babies are waited and prayed for so long in a family.  This little girl sure is a blessing to hers.  She was content the whole time we were taking pictures and hardly made a peep the entire time. That, and those big brown eyes, that may turn hazel someday, sure do melt anyone’s heart!  Happy 1/2 birthday, Kora, you are a peach!

Here are the Straights!  Between the spring snows we have been having, we had a chance to get their sons and grandsons together on their front porch.  It was chilly, but we had some good laughs as we got the little boys to snuggle and giggle on the rocking chair.  I wonder what the boys thought of all that snow on Easter morning?  I hope you are all enjoying the warmer days we’ve all been waiting for!
