Oh my stars, are these girls little dollies or what?!?  Kennedy is such a sweet big sister.  She’s a little shy, quieter and a bit reserved, but always smiling (just like her pretty mama)!  And Kollyns, you can tell she’s got a little mischievousness behind those eyes and that sweet little grin.  I’m going to miss seeing these two as they are moving to Texas with their family soon.

I wish you the best in your next chapter of life girls.  Keep smilin’ those beautiful smiles!

If personality has ever shown through in a newborn, it sure did with Miss Harlow!  She is one strong, determined little cookie.  At first she really wanted nothing to do with settling in to capture pictures of her sweet self, but after a few feedings, swaddling her tight, and cozying into a soft, warm bucket, she gave us all sorts of sleepy smiles and grins as her eyes fluttered with dreams.  She was a dream of a baby as her beautiful mama snuggled her, and we caught the most adorable moments of the pair.
I hope you always stay strong and determined, little Harlow!  It was great to meet you!

I can’t exactly choose a favorite, so I’ll just say the Melvins are one of my faves.  I always admire the way Dru & Brittany raise their family, and like to see how they always remember to keep each other a priority, too.  This year we got to add little Natalie to the mix, and I don’t recall a dull moment.  I know that it’s these candid moments captured that Brit loves to look back on when days get a little long, and someday, she’ll have them to look at when her kids are all somehow grown.  And, as always, Dru showed his unending patience when he brought out the horses for each of the bigger kiddos.  Then we wrapped the evening with Go-gurt snacks on the steps and the obligatory boot picture.
It was another fun time with you Melvins, enjoy your summer!

Session date ✓,Coordinating outfits ✓, Beautiful pasture location ✓, Adorable, happy boys ✓…and then it started to rain.
I think we have the Schoenholz family to thank for the glorious rain we received in the area last week. All day both Jessica and I were contemplating postponing the shoot due to the weather forecast, but decided that since many of the other recent forecasts never really amounted to much rain, we’d just go for it.  So we did!  Two poses in….it starts pouring.  So we loaded up those handsome little boys of theirs and headed back to my home studio.  Jessica’s main goal was to get some milestone pictures of the boys + some family shots if possible.  So, we did our best indoors while it rained.  Then, it stopped for about a half hour, just enough time to try to get a few more outdoor shots in our backyard.
So, thanks Schoenholz fam for braving the weather and brining the rain.
Have a great summer, and if we should need more rain, let’s schedule another session!

Update!  Here are some of my faves from our reschedule date!

This evening our Dawson turns 4!  Our handsome, dimpled boy still loves everything to do with the pigs, and he lives to help Daddy and Grandpa with chores daily.  His favorite are the days when the guys need to get out the lift trailer to move pigs from one place to another. Any time I look out the window, he’s proudly riding atop the John Deere 4020 with Dad, Grandpa, or even Uncle Gary, a trailer full of pigs hitched behind. Aside from that, this boy is such a loving big brother to Rhett; and when he and Shelby are getting along, they make the sweetest pair and love to play pretend.
Happy 4th birthday, Dawsonboy.  You fill a place in our our hearts like no one else could.  We love you!
