It was a special privilege to be present at Hollis’s 90th birthday party last weekend and meet all of his family.  What a guy!  You can see just how much he is loved by the way his great-grandkids get excited to sit by him and even hitch a ride every now and then.  He’s just as sharp as a tack, too.  I know last year he was still preparing people’s tax returns, and I am guessing he is probably gearing up for another year’s end.  Happy birthday, Hollis!  I was honored to help celebrate your day!

I’ve known both Nate and Kristi for a few years now, but this was the first time meeting their adorable kiddos.  I had to smile when Kristi called them their ‘Neopolitan’ kids since they all have different hair colors, but they all have such sweet brown eyes- just like mom & dad!  I always like looking for different genetic traits from one or both parents in a child.  It’s interesting to see how God can create everyone so uniquely even when in the same family.  It was nice to finally meet all of you, Caseys!  Enjoy the fall season!

Over the past weekend, I had the chance to meet the Crocketts and their super friendly pup, Finnegan, who is very interested in sqiurrels!  Come to find out, Bob & Lisa are both natives of Davenport and related to another family I also photographed that weekend.  It is always fun to connect the dots with families in the area and get to know a little bit more about where everyone grew up. The couple’s daughter, Alida, is sure a sweetheart too.  And, her eyes, well, they’ll do the talking for you as they dance in the light of the beautiful orange, yellow and crimson leaves.  Happy fall, Crocketts!

I got to meet and photograph the Norden family last fall, and I was privileged to have that opportunity again!  Their boy is a sweet little guy, and it only took a bit of coaxing with Skittles to get those adorable smiles.  It was a perfect autumn day to enjoy the turning and falling leaves, and even little Brantley was okay with lying down on his belly in the crunchy leaves for a few pictures.
