Happy 1st birthday, Miss Piper!  This precious, pink bundle of joy rounds out a family of three older brothers, and she is just perfect in every way.  She sparkles with all the wonder that little girls do.  And then, I got to meet a wonderful line of women in Piper’s family, and I’m confident in saying she is graced with a group of kind, strong, confident, fun-loving women who will raise her to do the same.

Through Christmas we waited ever so patiently for our little niece/nephew to join our family.   Then, just a few days before the new year, she arrived!  She is such a little sweetie, and I just cannot get over her round, kissable cheekers.  And, as if she’s not cute enough already, wait until you see the adorable hats and blanket her mama crocheted while she waited for this little one.  Welcome to the world and our family, Miss Iyla Nicole!  We love you sooo much!

I love my family to which I belong, but if I had to choose another family in the whole wide world, the Schroeders would probably be one my top five choices. There is never a shortage of love, laughter and smiles among these folks.  They are the type who are always up for a challenge, a funny joke, and having each others’ backs.  And, we’re almost close enough to be neighbors…how cool is that?!

The presents are wrapped, cards mailed, gingerbread baked, carols sung….now we wait.
We await the greatest celebration – the birth of our Savior – because that is the most significant piece of Christmas.  Looking at my little family, I cannot help but smile and be thankful for all the Lord has provided me.  Through each trial and tribulation, success and triumph, God has been there weaving together my life into this messy, beautiful thing I am privileged to call mine.  I pray that your Christmas is filled with love of your family and friends and knowing that Christ is always with you to see you through life.

I thought I had better get this adorable little family posted before these five become “Miller, party of six!”  We took advantage of this fall’s Indian Summer weather weeks ago and did our best to get in the Christmas mood early.  But, what do you know, Christmas is nearly here and so is that little baby.  The big siblings are pretty eager to meet this new little one, and I am pretty excited to snuggle a new niece or nephew!  Merry Christmas and well wishes, Miller fam!
