01-10-17 baby announcementWe are excited to announce there will be a new, little member joining our family this summer!  We are definitely thrilled but a little nervous as parents to become outnumbered.  But, if there is one thing of which I am certain, there will be so much more to love to share!

Love is already evident in the way the kids reacted to the news.  They really picked up on what was happening once we got to see little ‘Nugget’ on ultrasound and hear his or her heartbeat.  My starting-to-show bump gets kisses nearly every day, and the most popular question is asked in the morning, “Is the baby still in your tummy?”  Like with our two others, we will be leaving baby’s sex up to surprise on arrival day!

Speaking of that, arrival day is expected to be mid-July.  However, if baby follows big brother’s footsteps, baby could arrive some time in the end of June.  So, what does that mean for my photography?

I will be booking sessions up to but no later than June 16th, 2017 in order to ensure I can finish editing, designing, and ordering for all clients prior to baby.  I will begin taking bookings again for October 1st, 2017 and beyond, just in time to capture the beautiful autumn colors.  For current newborn clients, I will continue to book baby milestone sessions throughout my maternity leave as possible.  During this time, I will also do my best to return emails, calls and texts, but I ask for your patience if I am not able to get back to you within a day or two.

I will admit I am bummed knowing that taking time off this summer will take a serious toll on my senior picture session availability.  I strongly encourage 2018 seniors to book with me in late May after school lets out and in the first couple weeks of June.  You may also wait until October, but I realize scheduling is tough once back in school.  I gave this a lot of thought, and I really do not want to miss opportunities with awesome seniors, but this year, my family needs to come first while little one is so new.

And, also, happy new year!  It is a little crazy to think that September of this year will mark Whitney Miller Photography’s 5th anniversary!  I am beyond grateful for the families and children I have met over these past few years and have put trust in me to capture some very precious memories.  I have some of the greatest family, friends and community to support me as I learn and grow this business, and I look forward to seeing what the next 5+ years bring!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It is hard to believe it’s been a year already since this little lady came into the world.  Little Miss Iyla has been so fun to watch grow, and her own little personality is really starting to shine.  She is always happy, especially when she is perched safely on her mama’s hip.  But, she always enjoys a good adventure of seeing how far up the stairs she can go before someone catches her – she pretty much as stairs mastered.
Happy 1st birthday, sweet girly!  I cannot wait to watch you grow even more!

I am being completely honest when I say I married very well when it comes to extended in-laws.  This is Ryan’s aunt and uncle and their married children who live just a mile down the road from us, and we love them so much.  Our kiddos call them Uncle Gary and Aunt Susie, just as if they are not even a generation removed from them.  The kids adore going to their house to see the cows, play with toys in their fun basement or throw a frisby with the dog.  I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Miss Irelynn may be one of the tiniest newbies I’ve photographed, weighing in the 4 lb. club when she was born, but she sure has a good, healthy pair of lungs.  And, she definitely likes to be included in what is going on.  Once we got her to sleep, she slumbered for only about 20 minutes then her eyes popped open and she was ready to interact with us again.  My favorite thing about Irelynn is her love for snuggles – and I’m sure her mama and daddy love getting plenty of those each day, too.  Have a very merry 1st Christmas, little one!

Little Maria is three months old already – just in time for the holidays!  I love the soft, fuzzy sweater her mama chose for her first set of pictures.  (I wonder where I could get me one?)  Her mama also brought some fun Christmas lights to incorporate, and you’ll have to check out the many faces of Maria on tummy time.  She thoroughly enjoyed blowing bubbles with her lips in that set – so very cute!  Merry 1st Christmas, Miss Maria.  You make the holidays merry and bright for many!
