Our sweet girl turns 7 this evening! It’s true, in the blink of an eye, our little ones grow so quickly. It was so fun to see this girl grow and blossom in her Kindergarten year. She so quickly learned to read and loves it! She’s now tying her own shoes. Just last week she showed me how she can put up her own ponytail! With her beautifully vivid imagination, she still loves to play pretend, catch butterflies, play with all sorts of dolls, mermaids, & unicorns, dance around the house, watch all of her favorites movies, paint nails with mom, talk dad’s ear off, and play with her cousins and friends. I cannot wait to see what seven looks like for her! Happy birthday, Shelby Ann! We love you beyond measure!
This boy of ours, today he is five whole years old. He is still a little boy, but growing up before my eyes every day. He will still snuggle up and fall asleep on my lap at night, but he can keep up with Dad on the farm all day if we let him. He still wakes me in the night from time to time to lay by him until he falls back to sleep, but he also knows how to get his own pancakes in the morning if I am pressed for time. With the new baby coming soon, his sweet little heart recognizes that I need help around the house, and often I will find him washing dishes in a sink full of cold, soapy water, or he will be up on his tippy toes loading his hamper of dirty clothes into the washing machine all by himself. So little, yet so big. I have heard that little boys grow young men, and I already see it happening. I love his brown-haired, piggy-smelling, brown-eyed head so much that sometimes I just want to bottle him up and keep him right here at 5 forever, but then, I know he’ll turn 6, and I’ll want to keep him there, too. Watching babies grow is definitely bittersweet. Happy birthday, Dawson Kevin! We love you so!
Oh nephew Nash, how sweet you are! At just nine months old, this little man has been army crawling over the place for some time already, and likes to tease his mama by showing her how he can stand near things. Next on his list of to-dos: walk! But, we won’t speak of it for now, we will just enjoy him being a babe a bit longer. Until then, keep those dimply smiles comin’, Nash “Potato.”

What a sweet little pea to arrive just in time to celebrate Easter with her family. Last fall, when taking the Edgar fam’s photos, I learned this little one would be joining their family, and she fits in perfectly! As you will see she has got two great big brothers to love her and protect her as she grows. Welcome to the world, sweet Josslynn!
Congratulations on your engagement, Trev & Kalli! I was pretty happy for these two when I heard they are getting hitched, then I was ecstatic when they asked me to be their photographer! We had a great time exploring a couple farms around home, and the most special were the photos we took around Grandpa & Grandma Schroeder’s pretty little pond. Enjoy putting the finished touches on your big day over the summer, T + K, I will see you in August!
