All of a sudden Karson (one of my youngest first cousins) has become a senior! He’s an awesome wrestler and avid duck hunter. But that’s just Karson on the surface. Ever since I can remember he’s always had a way with animals. He once rescued a turtle dove with broken feet, named him Charlie, and Charlie now lives the life of bird luxury. There was a time he also had a wild goose tamed enough to follow him around the backyard. I would guess his happy place it spent outdoors hunting with his dad and brother.
Karson, I wish you all the best in your senior year and all that is to come in the future!
You may remember these two adorable boys from six months ago looking cute in a washtub. Well, they’re now a year old and On. The. Move! Shoes or no shoes, they’ll get where they want to go. At one point, we had two shoes that didn’t make a pair – both boys were missing the same one! But, they didn’t seem to mind, they just kept on smiling. And, it sounds like these two little farmers both like the view from Daddy’s lap while going for a ride in the tractor. I can only imagine how much fun that will be as they continue to grow.
Happy 1st birthday, Kade & Jase!
Since the day I met Ryan, I knew his plan as the Miller family’s 5th generation farmer was to some day move back to the farm house where he grew up. Long story short, we fell in love, got married and here we are nearly four years, one business and two kiddos later. It is now our time to make the bittersweet move. We will begin switching homes with his parents on Friday, November 21st.
First and foremost, I want to thank every single client who has entrusted me to capture your loved ones with my camera. It has been one of the most exciting things I have done in my life, and I do not intend to quit for a very long time…or ever, at this point. However, it is with a heavy heart I will not be able to take any new bookings between November 1, 2014 and January 3, 2015, and October is filling quickly, too. I apologize if I am not able to fit you in this fall/winter but will gladly mark you on the calendar for 2015.
For those still waiting to place or receive an order, you have my word that I will meet or exceed the deadlines listed on your contract as long as you place your order by the date listed on your contract. I ask for your patience with any orders placed after Thanksgiving. It may take me a few weeks to get my office and internet set up so I can work.
How does this affect Whitney Miller Photography? Not a whole lot. Deb & Duane have graciously agreed to let me still use the “town house” backyard for my shoots. Thank goodness! However, I am excited to explore new locations around the farm and in the country. One very big positive I’m looking forward to is having my own office and possibly a mini studio area that can stay set up there.
Most of all, thank you, Deb & Duane, for the countless memories and priceless treasure you are about to pass on to us. We will do our absolute best to keep it up, and hopefully be able to pass it on to our children some day. And, to Erin, Ross and Drew and your families, you’re always more than welcome to visit, stay and play for a taste of home at the farm.
Thanks again for taking the time to read this and for your continued support in my photography. It has been such an incredible journey this far, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for years to come.
It was a pleasure photographing the Weber family, and these boys sure made my job easy. Until Easton found a snake… I nearly had a heart attack as he picked it up, swinging it toward me saying, “See, right here, it’s just a little one!” Thankfully, he was a dear and ‘almost’ killed it for me. While I sheepishly recovered, mom just smiled, rolled her eyes and reminded me that boys will be boys. So, now that there’s one less snake out there to frighten us (or maybe just me), go ahead and enjoy this family. I sure did!
As I walked in the door to meet Miss Bristal, she was fresh from her bath with the fuzziest little wisps of hair that practically tickled your nose just looking at them! I couldn’t wait to get some snuggles in between poses. Being the first girl but third child, her mama had quickly acquired a stellar selection of headbands as you’ll see. But, we did make room for a few football poses with the big brothers. They seem pretty excited to have a little sister, and I’m sure they’ll always keep a good eye on her! Congrats, Huber family – she’s precious!
