Little Ellie has the world at her fingertips, and she’s just busy taking it all in.  I adore her blonde wispy hair that fits her personality to a ‘T’.  She is a smart cookie, too – when her mama tried handing her just two grapes, Miss Ellie promptly called her out knowing there were three to begin with.  She’s the kind of girl I would want on my team someday!  We rounded out her session with some bubbles by the lilies – what fun!

This little peanut, I’m telling you, is one of the sweetest!
Natalie and her big sister, Mara, came to see me last week. Aside from the mosquito population, we lucked out with one of the most beautiful Nebraska evenings we’ve had so far this year.  The sunlight sure made the little girls’ eyes sparkle and dance – so much so, big sis even did her own dancing as Nattiebug looked on.  What a joy it was spending some time with these two as we peeked around the trees at each other.
Enjoy your summer girls!

Our ‘Tootsie’ is 3 today!!
Life with this little girl is better than I could have ever imagined.  She is full of curiosity, energy, imagination and independence.  I love watching her from the distance as she sings into her fist microphone twirling around the edge of the sandbox with a tune in her head and scuffed cowgirl boots on her feet.  There are days when I cannot get her out of her tutu yet other days she refuses to wear it.  She continues to teach me to let go of a lot of little things that really do not matter but to grasp those fleeting moments of her childhood that are making the memories of the little lady she is becoming. Many times since moving to the farm, I’ve paused to watch her knowing God has placed her in exactly the place she needs to learn to fly.  And, I thank him deeply for that.

This last image was an outtake during her little brother’s shoot.
I looked over and heard her quote Disney’s Frozen, “Prince Hans, I leave you in charge! I’m coming, Elsa!”

(P.s.  That is not my voice-over at the end of the song, but it is spot on to what I would tell my Shelb.)

I was overjoyed when Brittany contacted me to take their family pictures again this spring before Dru heads out on his bulldoggin’ tour this summer.  It was quite fun to see how much little Jaxson has grown in just a year, AND I’m even more excited to see how their sweet family is going to grow some more in September!
p.s. There’s a fun little surprise waiting at the end of this post.  It’ll make you smile!Melvin104Melvin112Melvin119Melvin122Melvin125BWMelvin129BWMelvin133BWMelvin149Melvin158Melvin168Melvin175Melvin186Melvin196Melvin197Melvin215Melvin226Melvin229Melvin245Melvin242Melvin260Melvin266Melvin278Melvin290Melvin296Melvin304Melvin309Melvin313Melvin324Melvin338Melvin343Melvin361Melvin365Melvin369Melvin371Melvin375Melvin377Melvin378Melvin389Melvin393Melvin395Melvin401Melvin397Music: Automatic by Miranda Lambert

Our little handsome turns one today!  I really just cannot get enough of him.  I love watching his determination as he swiftly throws up his little legs to climb stairs in our home to keep up with big sis.  Just a couple weeks ago he got his first haircut by Marv that makes him look about 13 years older – well not really, but his combover sure does melt my heart.  And, the excitement on his face, in his arms & legs, and the squeal he lets out when Daddy comes in – priceless.  Dawsonboy, I love watching you grow and look forward to raise’n you up through your little boy years and into a fine young man.
We love you sooo incredibly much!
