Oh, my baby Rhett, at times he hardly seems like a baby already. One thing is for sure, though, I love him with every fiber of my being. As our third child, there are things I feel I’ve learned sooner, let go of long ago, and hold on to a little tighter. With him, each time I take these milestone photos, I know that in a blink we’ll be looking back on them as a fond memory of a short time we had with him at this stage. I want to remember how his nose scrunches with excitement each time we pick him up from his crib. I want to recall the darling sound he makes each time he sees the kitty outside the front door. I always want to think of the smell of him fresh from the bath, how squishy his thighs are, the way his lips purse when he sleeps. I want to remember how quickly he caught on to rolling, crawling, walking along the couch – because soon he’ll be running.
Just a decade ago, one of the million dreams I hoped for was the family that would some day be mine. And, here we are, married, with three littles, living that very dream.
To say I’m blessed is a serious understatement.
Love you, Rhett Eph, one of my dreams.
